Sara felt Gage’s pride had kept him away just as she knew this was only sex to him. However, she needed him and would take him however she could. It was only sex for her at the moment too. The Efference was another unfortunate trait she had managed to retain from her Maji mother. It was a driving, blazing need to be with the chosen mate of a Maji. Earlier in the day, Gage had been too close to her for too long and she was ablaze with raw hunger.

Jacob had already been by her room and offered to help. He knew she suffered and needed relief. She knew she was putting off pheromones a Maji male wouldn’t be able to resist. Jacob had answered the call, completely unashamed to admit he wanted her.

Gage was another matter entirely. If he rejected her, she would continue to burn painfully, knowing Gage would be the only one who could quench the fires of her desire.

“This means nothing,” Gage growled against her mouth, kissing her deeply. Their mouths were a feeding frenzy, desperate to touch and feel the other. She touched any bare skin she could find. She was raking her nails on his skin, which was ultrasensitive if he was in the same condition that she was at present.

“Nothing, absolutely,” she gasped as she pulled his shirttail out of his jeans. “It’s just sex,” she said, ripping the front of his shirt, sending buttons flying. She nipped the defined pectoral muscle of his chest, not quite drawing blood yet leaving her mark.

Somehow they managed in a tangle of legs and arms to get across the room, and her thighs were pushing against the beveled edge of his desk. In one sweeping motion, he cleared a place large enough for them and climbed on top of her as she welcomed him.

“Damn it! I don’t have protection,” he moaned as she scraped her neatly trimmed nails through his hair and then down his back. They settled on his round, firm butt and she squeezed, sinking nails into tender flesh.

“God, you have a great ass,” she said breathlessly, grateful she and Saul had decided to wait to have another baby until Molly was a little older. “I’m on the pill,” she added as he pulled the drawstring out of her pants and flung it over her head. It landed on her shirt, precariously dangling on the arm of his executive chair.

“Thank God,” Gage sighed, smoldering with primal need as he took the dark red nipple into his mouth, sucking hard. He didn’t want to get her pregnant and right at that precise moment, he knew he could not have stopped driving himself deeply into her to pull out. He was not a saint and surely not a monk, and she was the only woman he knew who made him this crazy with need.

She breathed heavily. “Ahh, yeah,” she managed as she sucked in her breath at the contact of his mouth on her skin.

“Hmm, milk,” he said, licking the side of her breast where the milk had flowed.
